Currawong Vault keeps your passwords, notes and cards encrypted with a key that never leaves your devices. The server stores sealed boxes. It can't open them, and neither can the people who run it.

What the server actually sees

Every item is locked on your device before it's sent, with a key made from your master password or unlocked by your passkey. Here is one login on its way in.

Version 2: AES-256 with a random starting value, the scrambled item, and a seal that shows if anything was changed.

What the server can read

Nothing useful.

Not the password, not even the website. Your master password never leaves your device either: the server only keeps a one-way fingerprint of it, which is why a strong one matters.

Currawong Vault speaks the same language as Bitwarden, so the official Bitwarden apps work with it: iPhone and Android, Mac, Windows and Linux, and extensions for every major browser.

    On the login screen, tap where it says Logging in on: bitwarden.com and pick Self-hosted.
